Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises a crew performing routine preventive maintenance and safety inspection operations for a building or plant's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Follows a daily and weekly schedule to effectively assign maintenance and repair tasks and may use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track work orders. Being a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees preventive maintenance, repair, inspection, and calibration processes to identify wear, damage, or leaks, replace filters or belts, or apply lubrication to mechanical devices. Selects, schedules, and coordinates vendors and outside service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects. Additionally, Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor maintains a replacement and spare part inventory at required levels. Trains and coaches the team. Ensures all work and material handling follow established safety procedures and regulations. Experienced with facilities maintenance processes and may have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Responsibilities:

    • Manages multiple project and crew schedules, including appointments, job walks, and meetings.
    • Coordinates with General Contractors, Subcontractors, and internal teams for manpower, materials, and adherence to plans.
    • Conducts site visits to oversee installation progress, quality, and compliance with specifications.
    • Ensures availability of materials, supplies, and tools for scheduled work.
    • Upholds and enforces OSHA safety standards among employees and subcontractors.
    • Leads, supervises, and mentors field technicians in technical aspects.
    • Addresses technical inquiries and resolves customer concerns to ensure satisfaction.
    • Involved in recruitment, interviews, hiring, and training of new employees.
    • Conducts performance reviews and manages disciplinary actions for technicians.

    Job requirements

    • Relevant certifications or licenses in plumbing or construction management.
    • Experience in plumbing projects is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and mentor teams, particularly in plumbing or related fields.
    • Strong skills in managing multiple project schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders (General Contractors, Subcontractors, etc.), and ensuring project adherence to plans and specifications.
    • Deep understanding of plumbing systems, and installation processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and a commitment to enforcing these among all team members and subcontractors.
    • Ability to conduct thorough site visits, inspect installation progress, and ensure all work meets high standards of quality.
    • Skilled in ensuring the availability of all necessary materials, supplies, and tools for scheduled work.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to effectively liaise with customers, team members, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
    • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new employees, as well as conducting performance reviews and managing disciplinary actions.
    • Openness to personal and professional growth, with a readiness to take on new challenges and contribute to the company's success.
    • Strong inclination towards teamwork and collaboration, with a 'no task is too small' attitude.
