    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager with responsibility for expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and product systems for TWG. The position is also responsible for leading, defining, and implementing effective methods to drive new revenue growth.

    Additionally, this position is responsible for following and enforcing ISO procedures, identifying actions to prevent problems, documenting quality problems, contributing to problem solutions, and verifying implementation of solutions. Position is also responsible for protecting the environment, including preventing pollution, and analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement throughout all areas of the business.

    This position will contribute to the success of the operations of TWG by performing the following duties personally as listed in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section as directed. Other essential duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (functions): TWG expects that all employees will work safely without injury maintaining the highest safety standards in compliance with Company safety policies.

    • Responsible for the leadership of department employees to include the overall direction, mentoring and training.
    • Oversees product designs of systems and parts of products.
    • Develops product specifications.
    • Oversees product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
    • Collaborates with manufacturing, production, and quality control to ensure that parts and/or products meet engineering and customer requirements.

    MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for managing an Engineering team to include the direction, mentoring and training of Engineering personnel. As determined by the Senior Engineering Manager, direct reports of this position may include Chief Engineer, Project Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Senior Designer, and Designer positions. Reviews and recommends salary adjustments, rewards, and disciplines, provides complaint and problem resolution for direct reports per Company policy.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty; 5 to 10 years successful engineering experience; 3-year successful leadership and management experience; or equivalent successful combination of education and experience.
    • Gated Product Development processes, Critical Chain, and other similar project management processes.
    • Experience with supporting the production and manufacturing demands of Engineered products
    • Familiarity with all phases of new product development from initial concepting, validation, production, and ongoing maintenance

    Preferred:

    • MBA and/or proven team building skills and capabilities desirable.
    • Experience in the design of castings, sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, machine elements, machine assemblies and hydraulics.
    • Experience in electronic PCB design, software development, IoT, machine language, etc. (a/r)
    • Experience integrating electronics/software with mechanical elements. (a/r)
    • 3-d CAD systems familiarity, creating 3-d models and assemblies; large assembly management.
    • Working knowledge of mobile equipment, cranes, winches, hoists, and geared machinery.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in the English language at a skill level equivalent to those required under the education requirements. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to co-workers, Company management, customers or others as required.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under the educationrequirement.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Must have reasoning ability and skills equivalent to those required under the educational requirements. Ability to apply conflict and problem resolution skills from the commonsense level to the highest level of understanding.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing. Must be able to move around obstructions such as boxes, chairs, desks, office equipment and other related items that may be on the floor, move around airports, in and out of airplanes or other approved means of transportation. May require lifting up to 25 pounds with or without lifting aids and devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Must be able to work in a climate-controlled manufacturing office and or shop environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery and cold or hot temperatures.
