Mechanical Engineering Manager manages a team of mechanical engineers designing parts, engines, tools, or other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Designs, scopes, and develops new mechanical engineering initiatives and projects, and manages them through their life cycles. Being a Mechanical Engineering Manager helps establish programs to support training, process improvements, and the creation and maintenance of best practices and protocols. Interfaces with other departments to identify new potential products and projects. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mechanical Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Mechanical Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities:

    • 4 years of experience in a similar role
    • Complete performance of mechanical engineering tasks by designing and drafting; HVAC load calculations, sizing equipment, duct-work, and piping
    • Processing drawings and RFI's, and conducting site visits during the construction phase
    • Performing computer economic analysis of alternate HVAC systems
    • Assure systems and product quality and maintain products by regulations
    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
    1. Accredited bachelor’s degree in mechanical or architectural engineering
    2. Practical Revit experience
    3. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the architectural engineering consulting environment
    4. Demonstrated success in project design, time management, and technical / formal communication skills
    5. Proven experience performing the responsibilities of an Engineer I (Mechanical)


    Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
    1. PE or in the process of preparing for exam
