Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. What you’ll be doing (duties of this position):- Design, plan and manage installation and maintenance of various projects
- Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise subordinate engineering staff
- Using SAP, manage equipment inventory and predictive maintenance programs
- Work closely with the Operations, Maintenance and Distribution departments to maintain reliability and quality issues
- Manage repair histories and recommend upgrades and/or replacements based on reliability and performance data
- Manage monitoring/maintenance systems to prevent equipment failures
- Prepare bid documents and contract specs. Manage the bid process
- Prepare cost estimates, develop project budgets, expense forecasts and cost tracking
- Manage multiple projects ranging from large to small
What you’ll need to be considered (requirements):- Strong leadership/management skills
- BS degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. MS degree preferred
- 10 years of engineering experience including 2 years in a management position
- Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Project Management skills
- Experience with applications such as Six Sigma, QA/QC inspection
- Experience with AASHTO, IBC codes, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ESRI/GIS
- FE license required, PE license required within 6 months
- PMP certification is preferred
