    ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Develop and maintain organizational quality and innovation lab objectives.
    • Verify the effectiveness of the organization's QA and Innovation lab as measured against objectives.
    • Identify, develop, implement, and maintain measurement systems for critical product characteristics.
    • Identify, develop, implement, and maintain data analysis systems for critical product characteristics.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the lab proficiency testing program.
    • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair lab equipment as needed.
    • Document, implement, and maintain good laboratory practices and test methods.
    • Verify lab compliance to GLP's and test methods.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's micro testing program.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's product cutting program.
    • Work with the formulations team to understand lab sample requirements and facilitate the creation of the lab samples.
    • Ensure housekeeping duties necessary to maintain lab cleanliness and organization are performed as required.
    • Support Purchasing and the Formulations Technician II in the testing and evaluation of potential new ingredients.
    • Report issues with regards to the food safety/quality assurance system (FSQA) to Leadership and adhere to the requirements of the FSQA standards.

    First 30 days: 

    • Develop an intimate understanding of our organization mission, culture, team, products, and role expectations.
    • Develop an intimate knowledge of the organizational food safety and food quality plans.

    First 60 days:  

    • Begin to Identify, develop, implement, and maintain measurement systems for critical product characteristics.

    Requirements

    OTHER:

Background check, pre-employment drug screen and industry non-compete are required. This position resides at our corporate office in Green Bay, WI. No relocation package available. 


    Education: Four-year degree in Biology, Food Science or equivalent highly desired. 


    Experience:

    Lab technician experience preferred.

    Must feel “at home” in a refrigerated, multi-cultural, meat-processing environment.

    Must be able to be on your feet all day and lift at least 40 pounds frequently.

    Food and/or meat industry experience a plus.

    Proficient in Microsoft and GSuite applications.

    Must possess strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
