  • Program Director: Transitional & Maternity Housing Program Hours per Week:    40                         Hybrid Schedule Starting Annual Salary: $77,682.90   Position Description: The Program Director is responsible for the management, leadership and development of the St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional & Maternity Housing Program (SMC).  SMC aims to increase self -sufficiency and to stop the cycle of homelessness among single mothers with children or pregnant single women.  Participating families in Transitional Housing are provided private residential units and intensive case management, counseling and employment support up to 24 months.  The Maternity Housing program provides housing and services from date of program entry through 90 days post-delivery to assist the new mother with a safe exit and sustainable living plan. Position Responsibilities: Develop, supervise, and inaugurate services that carry out the mission and vision of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington for homeless or at-risk persons in need of Maternity or Transitional housing.  Ensure services are available to all eligible Diocesan residents.  This includes oversight of staff, financial and risk operations.   Responsible for day-to-day operation of St. Margaret of Cortona Transitional & Maternity Housing Programs, to include the maintenance of records, the assurance of client confidentiality, nondiscrimination, and standards of practice. Responsible for managing program budget, grants, site security and service outcomes, to include creating annual budget based on facility needs and anticipated services.  Monitor spending and initiate partnerships for revenue creation.    Supervise inter-disciplinary treatment team, including hiring, onboarding and training new staff.  Conduct personnel reviews, goal setting, and onboarding. In collaboration with Human Resources administer leave in accordance with agency policy.  Approve expenditures for staff training and skill development. Using a Trauma Informed Care approach, conduct individual staff supervision and weekly case staffing.  Facilitate coordination of services internally or with external resources and monitor staff performance, policy compliance and evaluations through regular individual supervision and coaching. Using a Trauma Informed Care approach, develop protocols for intake and acceptance of client applications. Participate in intake interviews, identify best practices for individual residents and ensure regular review of case management plans.  Assist staff with triaging client problems and encourage process to help clients learn to address resolutions of these obstacles.  Improve financial capacity of clients through vocational training.  Encourage and strengthen healthy relationships. Provide positive and affirming support for mandatory therapy following Catholic Social Doctrine respecting the dignity of the human person. Collaborate with the Art Therapist regarding HIPAA, assuring relevant information is shared with the Case Managers. Collaborate with the Director of Community Services and agency clinicians to schedule special assessments or diagnostic support based on client behavioral concerns. Oversee integration with on-site mental health services and external resources. Assure that all residential units are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition Work in coordination with Agency QA and Facilities Manger to ensure all residential units are maintained to Agency standards. Ensure staff provides each client with basic furnishings and household goods. Regulate payment of the program fee to reflect income and resources of the client. Authorize Child Care Subsidy funding determined by Child Services Coordinator and client copay. Collaborate with Senior Management to develop strategic program goals and objectives and effective utilization of restricted donations. Provide internship opportunities for students at accredited colleges/universities and recruit, orient, train, and oversee staff management of qualified volunteer help. Serve as representative of St. Margaret of Cortona in addition to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for ensuring timely response to telephone calls, visits, and community inquiries; communicating the work and mission of the agency as it relates to transitional housing programs; and for placing the work within the context of the diocesan-wide Mission and Vision . Conduct and approve regular data management, reporting and analysis. Maintains congruency with Catholic Identity and respect for the dignity of the human person.   Other Duties: Entails administrative work, research, and subject matter expertise. Budget development and fiscal management of the tracking and expenditure of program funds. On-call availability for staff consults or agency/client emergencies on evenings, holidays, and weekends. Knowledgeable and willing to uphold Catholic moral and social teaching. Other duties as assigned.   Qualifications & Skills: Knowledge of homelessness and direct experience working with clients in the human services field and in residential settings. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise an interdisciplinary treatment team. Knowledge of program development and community outreach to build support. Ability to speak effectively before individuals, public groups, and employees of the organization. Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task. Knowledge of child development and community resources is preferred. Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software applications. Ability to be an authorized driver= 3 years of driving in the US, valid driver’s license and a good driving record   Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in Social Work or Human Services-related field. Experience working in non-profit management. 4 or more years in Homelessness Services. Experience with grant writing and fund raising.   Physical Demands: Able to lift 20 pounds safely from a standing position and receive donations of households goods, clothing seasonal gifts and items of furniture.
