Materials Manager

Job Purpose:

Sanmina is looking for an organized and hard working person to fill a Materials Manager position in our Operations in Turtle Lake, WI. The Purchasing Manager oversees activities related to the purchase of material, production control, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions.

Nature of Duties:

• Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
• Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, planning, production and engineering.
• Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and maintains inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
• Responsible for sourcing MRO purchases, utilities and outside services.
• Represent the department to other managers of the plant and the division to achieve and maintain maximum support and cooperation.
• Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.
• Maintains policies, procedures, and interacts with individuals and cross-functional teams to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
• Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.
• May work with customers to audit customer inventory levels and with external vendors to comply with inventory policies.
• Ensure compliance of corporate materials system (Performance Excellence).
• Performs other duties and handles special projects from time to time as assigned by the Division Materials Director.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while staying on target reaching the expected goal in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:

• Result and action oriented; Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to communicate with suppliers and with multiple levels throughout the organization
• Experience developing supplier relationships and obtaining cost reductions
  Must demonstrate imitative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks
• Oracle or SAP experience required
• Proficient in MS Office suite
• Bachelor's Degree in related field of work
• Min of 5 years of related Experience
