Materials Manager manages the raw material planning processes to ensure an organization operates efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Manager utilizes MRP system to manage material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Develops forecasts for raw material needs by considering purchases, production rates, and maintenance schedules. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPIM certification in production and inventory management is definate plus.
Experience: Five (5) years related experience in production planning, record keeping and purchasing. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience.
Specific Skills: Ability to organize and supervise large scale Planning and Production activities; establish and maintain effective working relationships; present ideas clearly orally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient in the use of a computerized Material Requirements Planning systems. Knowledge of materials management and administration.
Physical Demands: Most of the time spent sitting with occasional (less than 10%) standing, walking, stooping, or climbing in warehouse.
Success Factors: Enjoys working with numbers and analyzing data.
