Materials Manager manages the raw material planning processes to ensure an organization operates efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Manager utilizes MRP system to manage material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Develops forecasts for raw material needs by considering purchases, production rates, and maintenance schedules. Additionally, Materials Manager coordinates with stakeholders in purchasing and inventory control when adjustments are needed and troubleshoots complex issues as necessary. Maintains supplier relationships and may negotiate lead times. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. JOB PURPOSE |
The Materials Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time. This position is also responsible to develop and manage all supplier relationships.

Occasionally additional hours may be optional or mandatory to complete essential tasks. All work is performed within an office environment with occasional warehouse exposure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Materials Manager will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. Worker may be required to lift objects weighing from less than 20lbs to 40lbs on rare occasion. May also be required to walk and stand for long periods.
