Materials Manager manages the raw material planning processes to ensure an organization operates efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Manager utilizes MRP system to manage material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Develops forecasts for raw material needs by considering purchases, production rates, and maintenance schedules. Additionally, Materials Manager coordinates with stakeholders in purchasing and inventory control when adjustments are needed and troubleshoots complex issues as necessary. Maintains supplier relationships and may negotiate lead times. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Key Responsibilities

    Develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies.

    Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.

    Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.

    Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.

    Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.

    Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.

    Enables and maintains commodities in the reverse value chain (repair).

    Applicant should have highly developed analytical as well as soft skills. This role will require constant communication with vendors under sometimes stressful situations. The ability to communicate clearly while understanding the implications of both vendor facing and cross functional influence is a necessity.

    Experience with high level presentation to executives.

    Ability to travel /- 20%.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP required.

    U.S. Salary Range:

    $108,000.00 - $148,500.00

    The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

    For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
