Job Title: Head of Mechanical Systems
Location: Houston, TX (may work from home; requires travel offshore locally and internationally 20% of the time)
Duties:
Responsible for the operational integrity and maintenance standardization of mechanical systems which includes drilling, hull and machinery equipment, and hydraulic cylinder management across Seadrill's fleet; drive the operational strategies for the overhaul and tracking of hydraulic cylinders and the development of condition monitoring Asset Lifecycle Management (ALCM); direct the drilling, hull and machinery, and ALCM personnel to support operations, project planning, and the execution, maintenance, and additional operational outcomes within the discipline.; develop a quality control and quality assurance system in line with industry standards to demonstrate compliance with industry standards and liaise with class societies to gain external recognition for the program; communicate effectively with senior management the requirements, progress, and achievements of the program towards the company targets; review, author, and issued corporate reports including technical reports, bulletins, and proposals, and ensure corporate standards are updated across the fleet; review and maintain preventative tasks in assigned areas of responsibility; provide support to team to ensure effective execution of management of change cases, maintenance change requests, and improvement proposals across from rigs; cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including rig operations, project managers, engineers, vendors/OEMs and senior staff members.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or closely related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or seven (7) years of experience in a related occupation in an offshore and onshore supervisory oil and gas role; utilizing hull and drilling rig equipment on offshore drilling rigs; utilizing drilling operation experience across asset types and global operations; experience with asset lifecycle management processes and systems; liaise at high level with drilling units and offshore technical teams.
