Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Monday - Friday Day Shift

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the effective repair of machine components in the field, at high levels of quality

    • Recondition and repair equipment and components

    • Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned

    • Pre-order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs

    • Effect the repairs in a safe and effective manner

    • Ensure all repairs complete as assigned and the cosmetic appearance are up to standards

    • Perform inspections required to determine cause of failure is done following established guidelines and are completed with the cause identified

    • Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition

    • Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs

    • Ensure all records are legible and in compliance with established methods

    • Report all record keeping daily from the field, even when not returning daily to the company

    • Maintain shop tools, equipment and vehicles

    • Maintain personal appearance in a professional and neat condition. Wear all personal protective equipment, as required; and urges others to do so.

    • All communications with customers and co-workers are conducted in a manner reflecting respect and integrity

    Qualifications

    • Strong potential to develop good mechanical skills, good communication skills, and safe work habits

    • Be able to work independent of direct supervision in a field environment

    • Contribution to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians

    • A technical school or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred, but not required

    • Valid driver's license; clean MVR

    Physical Requirements

    • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment.

    • Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10-20 pounds

    • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, couch, and crawl

    • Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
