Materials Handling Supervisor jobs in Alabama
Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Summary:
We are looking for a talented and experienced Material Handling Team Lead to join our team. - Develop and implement new material handling processes and procedures
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that material handling needs are met
- Use Excel to track and analyze material handling data, such as inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and productivity metrics
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in material handling, with at least 1 year of supervisory/ team lead experience
- Must have forklift experience and certification
- Strong understanding of material handling principles and practices
- Experience with a variety of material handling equipment
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have experience using Excel to track and analyze data
