The Materials Handler will work out of our Brownwood, TX facility and report to the Operations Manager. Due to the scope and needs of manufacturing operations, this position is an onsite-based position and is not eligible for remote work. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:- Helps lead and build a manufacturing culture of excellence – first-time quality and safety.
- Ensure proper use of FIFO practices against material shelf-life requirements and material storage organization and sanitation confines
- Managing internal and external material transfers for weekly production needs
- Collaborate with various departments to manage efficient flow of materials by pre-staging raw materials and packaging for production
- Returning remnant materials back to on-site storage facilities post-production
- Reconcile on-hand inventory against systems usage for on-going accurate inventory levels
- Track ongoing material scrap risk through systems material reporting
- Learn team members roles to assist during team member’s absences to ensure business continuity
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- At least 3-5 years of supply planning, procurement and/or sourcing
- Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Ability to obtain Ethos Pet Brands forklift certification and ability to safely operate a forklift
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Prior experience working on the floor of a production facility
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Ability to problem solve, diagnose, and solve problem with minimal supervision while be in alignment with safety, quality, and company objectives
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift 50 to 75 lbs
- Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs daily
- Ability to work normal business hours as well as assist during off-hours and weekends, as needed
- Ability to operate a computer and other office technology
- Occasionally position self to access low spaces
- Ability to observe details at close range
- Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
- Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication including verbal and written mechanisms
