Keystone Powdered Metal Company a world leader in the Powdered Metal Industry has an opening for a Materials Engineer at its St. Marys headquarters. Today Keystone is part of Sumitomo Electric’s Industrial Materials segment which has thirteen P/M companies located in nine different countries around the world. Keystone operates plants in St. Marys and Lewis Run, Pennsylvania and Cherryville North Carolina, NC.
Material Engineer Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot/solve production and quality issues relating to material and processing concerns such as mix blending, sintering, and heat treatment.
Work on the development of new materials and processing to further the Company’s growth.
Partner with Sales and Marketing to recommend material solutions for new products and provide technical support to our Customers.
Oversee component specific Impact Testing, Tensile Testing and Fatigue Testing
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would possess:
4 year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Metallurgy or a minimum of five years of equivalent within the Powdered Metal industry with an emphasis on materials and processing.
Exceptional verbal, written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and project management
Working knowledge of powder metallurgy, sintering, and heat treatment:
Proficient in using PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
Possess an understanding of the equipment used in PM such as sintering and heat treat furnaces and atmosphere generators.
