    The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

    Responsibilities

    Job Purpose:

    Process Engineer working under the direction of the Value Stream Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, improving, and sustaining the advanced machining processes, procedure, workflows, specialized tooling & fixtures to ensure the effective utilization of personnel, materials, machines and facilities and the continuous production of advanced materials that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.    The role is an exciting opportunity to join a global, dynamic, Hi-Tech team, supporting the semiconductor, optical and LED industries.  We are an industry leader in development and manufacturer of high temperature, ultra-pure ceramic materials manufactured through CVD processes.

     

    Job Role:

    • Stabilize and Standardize
      • Write machine programs using MasterCAM. Either perform or direct the setup, run and inspection of first piece.
      • Bring skills and discipline to drive standardization to machine setups, managing CNC program storage, designing fixtures and specifying work-in-process metrology.
      • Capture standard operations into procedures and perform training.
      • Support 6S deployment.
    • Continuous Improvement
      • Utilize the root cause & corrective action (RCCA) process to prevent recurrence and drive improvement.
      • Investigate, recommend, and implement technology.
      • Monitor overall equipment effectiveness and support targeted improvement projects.
      • Develop and implement safe, optimal, cost-effective improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, controls, documentation, and equipment.
    • Growth
      • Collaborate with the Value Stream Leader to achieve production goals and drive projects to improve workflow and drive quality improvements.
      • Work in a team to drive the future state value stream, plan growth, install & qualify new equipment.
    • Sustainment
      • Ensure consistent use of procedures through period checks and quality audits.
      • Team with maintenance personnel to establish a sustainable preventive maintenance program.
      • Monitor machine operations to ensure the production of precise and accurate components and adjust as needed to maintain product quality.
      • Provide daily support to the production team

    Qualifications

    Qualifications/Skills

    • Prior experience with advanced machining processes including but not limited to: CNC, CMM, & conventional machining. Previous experience with ceramics machining such as precision grinding and diamond tooling preferred, but not required.
    • Knowledge of Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and implementing continuous improvement principles
    • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods as applied to process control.
    • Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001 is required.
    • Experience with developing/documenting procedures is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered.
    • Preferred proficient computer skills: Mastercam®, Productivity , Solidworks®, Microsoft Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with Haas machines a plus.
