Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Puyallup, WA. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for aggregate sampling and testing as well as process control as part of the production team ensuring appropriate product quality.

    What You'll Get to Do:

    • Sample on-site aggregate at various stages of production
    • Test raw materials according to specification
    • Calibrate, clean and maintain production tools and testing equipment
    • Record and report test results to management
    • Sample aggregate shipments
    • Work in conjunction with production personnel to evaluate problems with quality

    Essential Experience and Skills:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Demonstrated basic math skills
    • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
    • Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
    • Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather.
    • In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
    • Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required.

    Preferred Experience and Skills:

    • Applicable post-secondary education
    • Quality control, manufacturing, or production experience
