Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Responsibilities:

    - Develop and implement effective materials management strategies to optimize inventory levels and meet production demands

    - Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast material needs and create purchase orders

    - Coordinate with suppliers to procure materials, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery

    - Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory

    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop demand planning forecasts and align production schedules

    - Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures, including cycle counting and reconciliation

    - Manage supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and address any issues or concerns

    - Continuously analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving opportunities

    - Collaborate with production teams to ensure seamless material flow and resolve any supply chain disruptions

    Qualifications:

    - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

    - Proven experience as a Materials Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment

    - Strong knowledge of materials management principles, including demand planning, procurement, inventory control, and supplier management

    - Proficiency in using SAP systems for material planning and purchasing

    - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions

    - Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers

    - Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
