Our Materials Manager is a member of the Casa Grande Vikrell (CGV) Supply Chain operation organization. In this role, you will be responsible for the materials management function as it relates to the planning, scheduling, and procurement of materials and products to meet the operational execution, fulfillment, and working capital goals of the company. As the Materials Manager, you will also have the responsibility of directing and administering raw material/component procurement and planning/scheduling using Integrated Business Planning methodologies.
Specific Responsibilities
•Set the vision for the department and hold accountability for the performance of the plant materials team, production planning, and sourced scheduling.
•Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing costs and premium transportation charges; identify and resolve shortages.
•Function as a key stakeholder in the product portfolio management process
•Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen initiatives to align and drive Kohler Operating System (KOS) strategies across the Materials department.
•Oversee and ensure proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance labor and machine capacity.
•Overall accountability for the execution of the Master Production Schedule through the operational execution of the detailed production schedule
•Maintain established goals and objectives to monitor efficiency of workforce and control labor costs.
•Act as liaison to the Customer Service team to provide fulfillment updates to our customers.
•Collaborate with the Purchasing team to oversee the purchasing or contracting of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the plant.
•Execute purchasing policies according to Kohler Company and the respective laws of the countries in which we purchase materials or services.
•Develop, establish, and provide for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials.
•Possess a continuous improvement mindset and imbue the culture with a sense of urgency.
•Keep an external focus on changes within the industry and countries in which we operate.
•Supervise directly, as well as through subordinate supervisory employees, the planning and procurement of materials.
•Direct and lead the workforce in such a manner as to meet approved production schedules within budget costs.
•Manage and coach subordinates on performance and career paths, ensuring associate development, integrity, and resiliency in the Materials areas.
•Responsible for proper application of established employee relations policies, wage and salary administration policies, and health & safety regulations and procedures
•Oversee recommendations of approvals of promotions, merit increases, transfers, leaves of absence, and other personnel changes.
