Position Summary

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently starting and regulating plant processing equipment. The Control Room Operator will run and monitor plant operations from a centralized location under the direction of the Plant Manager and Supervisor

Primary Duties

• Starts, monitors, and regulates plant processing equipment within the company guidelines and safety standards
• Adjusts equipment programming to maximize production
• Generates work requests using maintenance planning program
• Maintains daily production reports and exchanges relevant information with others daily
• Monitors/Maintains load out area and operates mobile equipment as needed
• Operates other mobile and plant equipment, including skid steer, front end loader, etc. in a safe manner if needed
• Conducts pre-shift equipment/plant inspections and completes required paperwork accurately
• Aides in plant operation and repairs to plant equipment
• Maintains housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Aides in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
• Will take an active role in plant safety initiatives
• Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated
• Able to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulations
• Must be able to read and interpret gauges
• Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reports
• Must be able to wear all required safety equipment & PPE
• Must be able to communicate over CB radio or with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment.
• Must be service orientated with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment

Environmental Conditions

• Majority of work is performed outdoors.
• Exposure to elements of weather to include extremes in heat, humidity, cold, dust and moisture for extended periods.
• Occasionally/frequently exposed to rough, muddy and icy surface conditions.
• Intermittent exposure to high noise levels and truck vibration.
• Frequently exposed to water and wet conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
