Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor materials daily to ensure our products meet the specified requirements
- Follow quality control plans and guidelines
- Obtain required quality control certifications in a timely manner
- Record and report tests in quality control database
- Safely perform all work assigned
- Safely drive a company vehicle
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and anywhere within our work area
- Previous testing/quality experience highly desired
- High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Able to read, comprehend, and communicate in English
- Excellent math skills are required
- Strong computer skills are required
