Materials Control Manager manages daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Control Manager coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Monitors operations and troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support a culture that promotes safety as top priority while ensuring compliance with all
      federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
    • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sampling schedule.
    • Basic understanding of construction materials.
    • Must be able to interpret test results and communicate findings with supervisors.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write correspondence.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
      common fractions, and decimals.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards
      accurately. Also have knowledge of Internet software, Excel Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
    • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
    • Standard valid driver's license is required.
    • Travel is expected at times with this position but a company truck will be provided.

    Education and/or Experience
    High school diploma required or GED. Prior experience testing materials in the lab and field preferred.
