    POSITION SUMMARY

    We are currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team in Greenville, SC. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout operations. The Materials Manager will oversee the entire material flow cycle, ensuring that the company's needs are met efficiently and cost-effectively. This candidate will work closely with other managers, determine supply requirements, source materials, manage inventory levels, and coordinate warehousing and distribution activities. A high expertise in inventory management and supply chain logistics will be essential in maintaining optimal operational efficiency and customer. At Engineered Products, safety is paramount, so this role demands a keen adherence to safety regulations and guidelines while maintaining product quality.


    AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other departments to determine material requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Research vendors, negotiate contracts, and place orders for required materials.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure inventory levels are sufficient to meet production and client demand.
    • Direct production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts and inventory levels.
    • Oversee shipping and receiving functions, ensuring timely delivery of purchased parts and finished goods.
    • Identify opportunities to optimize transportation costs and streamline logistics processes.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned.


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. To ensure product quality, this candidate may need to visit the production floor which contains moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
