Mate- Ship, Boat, and Barge jobs in West Virginia

This position is located at Marshall County Loadout located in Moundsville, WV. This position is responsible for all daily operations of barges and vessels.

Pay Type: Hourly

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all company policies and United States Coast Guard regulations
• General maintenance and repairs as necessary
• Communicate effectively
• Use/knowledge of hand tools
• Work well in team environment
• Operate machinery
• Job requires multitasking
• Be observant and work safely
• Follow direction and make decisions

Experience

• Minimum 1 year experience loading barges and river operations
• Draft a barge correctly
• Basic computer skills such as PowerPoint
• Operate machinery such as front-end loader and dozer
• Must possess a TWIC Card

Job Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Effective communication is required
• Work Safely
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), required
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
• Must be able to work 6 days a week and overtime as needed; (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
• Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
• Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
• Ability to push/pull as needed
• Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
• Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50 pounds as needed
• Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas is required
