Translates the overall marketing vision into integrated business plans, tactics, projects, and deliverables. Being a Marketing Director oversees critical marketing functions, including market research, communications, and product planning. Utilizes technology and data to Identify changes in the competitive environment and enable responsive marketing activities. Additionally, Marketing Director develops budgets, resources, and teams to execute short-term and long-term marketing plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Marketing Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. About the Role:
The Director of Marketing will develop, manage, and evaluate domestic and international tourism industry marketing programs to increase travel and tourism to Massachusetts. These programs will include managing the group tour, meetings and events, corporate and cruise market segments.
The Director of Marketing is expected to have a holistic view of the Massachusetts tourism industry and be able to incorporate industry segments in the marketing of the state to different audience segments. The position will work collaboratively with the MOTT team and regional tourism council partners to ensure a clear communications and marketing strategy is executed to increase annual travel and tourism to Massachusetts.
