Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     The Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies to establish brand consistency, build a strategic marketing roadmap to support the commercial organization, and drive sales for MOBILion products. This is achieved through driving a cohesive brand messaging, product concept and definition, value proposition, competitive landscape, and roadmap for gaining market share within defined markets. The Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for developing and overseeing the Marketing team and leading them to develop marketing and communications campaigns, including social media, and drive peer-to-peer marketing. The Director of Strategic Marketing will bring a reputation for integrity, urgency, and accountability with sound technical and interpersonal skills. Their motivation, independence, and strong operational focus is key for success.

    Responsibilities:

    (1) Strategic Marketing (60%)

    • Develop and execute a strategic marketing strategy that drives milestone achievement and operational success.

    • Responsible for managing the marketing budget, to include consulting firms, materials, events, conferences, etc.

    • Anticipate, challenge, and interpret internal and external information to continuously refine branding, positioning, and messaging.

    • Drive VOC culture across organization to collect and continually validate unmet needs, value proposition, product solution, market opportunity, product concept, etc.

    • Identifying, defining, qualifying, and developing potential business opportunities for new products, product applications, long-term business alliances, and relationships on both a domestic and international basis.

    • Lead the competitive benchmarking of SLIM-MS vs. incumbent instruments and workflows.

    • Lead Marketing to assess product mix, evaluate market share, conduct competitive analysis, and identify enabling products and technologies.

    • Create and maintain detailed marketing plan that includes brand and product awareness, customer engagement and excitement, and clear articulate of value proposition to support sales objectives.

    • Utilize tools to record campaigns and assess metric driven success.

    • Provide insights and recommendations to evolve and improve marketing programs to optimize performance and improve return on investment.

    • Co-own customer outreach that includes campaigns, tradeshows, and events to increase brand and product awareness. In addition, support digital marketing.

    • Attend key industry conferences to develop an industry presence, represent MOBILion, and understand industry trends and issues.

    (2) Target Markets and Applications (40%)

    • Strategically assess new markets and applications to expand MOBILion’s total addressable market (TAM).

    • Execute and/or manage new market/application opportunity diligence (landscape mapping, technical feasibility, gap analysis, prioritization matrix, competitive landscape analysis, initial ROI, and position statement creation)

    • Engage with MOBILion’s existing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Develop new relationships with future customers, subject matter experts and KOLS to collect voice of the customer feedback, establish collaborations, and identify potential growth opportunities.

    • Review marketing materials such as application notes, white papers, technical notes, primers, field content presentations, for content and compliance.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelors in analytical chemistry, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, biology, or biochemistry.

    • 10 years’ experience in a leadership role in sales, marketing, or product marketing position in the mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, or related instrumentation market.

    • Understanding of the current analytical techniques in support of life science, academic, biopharmaceutical, and applied market applications and MOBILion’s products, features, and benefits.

    • Having a current and accurate knowledge of the instrumentation landscape from sample preparation through data analysis and reporting used in target markets.

    • Ability to convert technical product features to a value proposition statement that represents the technical and economic benefits provided to the customer.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and executing marketing strategies.

    • Understanding and proficiency in core up and downstream marketing processes including:

    • B2B marketing concepts

    • Exceptional communication skills and ability to speak, present, and write clearly and accurately, particularly as it relates to technical concepts.

    • A self-starter with strong operational focus and accountability
