The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750 acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
RBC's Marketing and Communications Office is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Communications. Under the supervision of the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer this position will:
Write and create written content for the Marketing & Communications department (press releases and articles).
Coordinate with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer the creation of the digital and print Inside RBC Magazine.
Manage end-to-end communication public relations projects, including developing press relationships, generating a growing media list.
Establish our communications web presence to boost brand awareness.
Maintain a strong online company voice through social media as related to print and copy materials.
Liaise with Marketing, Sales and Product development teams to ensure brand consistency.
Suggest and implement direct marketing methods to increase profitability.
Stay up-to-date with digital media developments.
Co-Maintain RBC website, specifically News (WordPress - training available with our webmaster).
Write press releases for the college.
Take photographs and assist in videography when needed for the college with other marketing team members.
Work with social media specialist on creating and maintaining content.
Guide the organization in communicating with members/potential members across the country, pitch, and place stories/interviews/op-eds.
Work closely with campus departments regarding communication needs.
Work with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer in designing and guiding the college on Podcast creation – and internet radio options.
Develop new ideas on effective messaging, while fostering staff, students and alums to tell their personal stores.
Some travel required, including international.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Extensive experience as a Writer or Digital Marketing Manager.
Working knowledge of Photoshop, In Design, and other photo and print media editing software.
Extensive experience with visual and written communication principles.
Proven and successful track record of developing communications and outreach.
Exceptional written communications skills for a variety of projects, including solicitation letters, newsletters, magazine articles, social media, email and web communications.
Attention to detail.
Eye for design with an ability to create informative and eye-catching photography and basic graphics.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Digital media, Film and Video or relevant field.
Candidate will work “on campus” inside the offices of Creative Services Group at RBC
