Assistant Professor of Integrated Marketing Communication
The Department of Communication is seeking an Assistant Professor, to begin as early as January 2024. The ideal candidate for this position has significant industry experience in Integrated Marketing Communication (public relations, social media, promotional content or advertising), teaching experience, and a master's degree (at minimum) in public relations, communication or related field. Candidates will be expected to teach courses such as introduction to IMC, public relations practice, public relations writing, media relations, social media content creation, social media tactics, promotional campaigns, issues in IMC, crisis management, media ethics, as well as core communication courses such as communication theory, writing for contemporary media, or media literacy. The department will consider hiring a non-traditional appointment, including a long-term teaching faculty position, depending upon candidate qualifications and preferences.
This person would primarily teach undergraduate communication courses in the Strategic Communication and Integrated Marketing Communication majors. An ideal candidate would create innovative courses based on their academic/curricular and practical expertise. For example, a candidate might have a strong background in sports communication, environmental communication, not-for-profit communication or diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000.00 annually
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate's actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time faculty's date of hire and include - health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time faculty with contribution from College after one year. One year waiting period may be waived provided the person was employed in higher education for at least one year full time within three years prior to hire date. University contribution would not begin until proof of prior service is received. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time faculty and their qualified dependents.
