Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Marketing and Communications Director

  • The Marketing and Communications Director is responsible for all marketing and communication efforts, including developing and implementing marketing strategies across all communication channels, ensuring brand alignment, overseeing all marketing content, developing and executing annual marketing fundraising and student enrollment campaigns, disseminating messaging via email, website, social media channels, etc., monitoring performance of marketing efforts and analyzing results, and identifying opportunities to increase student enrollment growth and drive community and fundraising engagement.  The ideal candidate will have non-profit marketing and social media experience, as well as be a team player who is extremely creative, organized, personable, and forward-thinking.

     

    Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Director is committed to Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustee’s policies regarding equity, human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports to the Executive Director or his/her designee.

    TITLE: Marketing and Communications Director

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications and/or related field or equivalent is required. Masters degree preferred.
    • 1-5 years of equivalent job related experience in marketing preferred.
    • Previous experience working for a non-profit organization preferred.
    • Forward thinker, results oriented, organized self-starter able to manage multiple priorities
    • Outstanding track record of strong communication, presentation, analytic and strategic capabilities
    • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities, schedules, and needs
    • High level of proficiency in using various technology and computer programs required.
    • Experience with publishing, design and video creation software required.
    • Demonstrated success working independently and as a team.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
    • Proven success building collaborative partnerships and ability to maintain effective working relationships.

     

    REPORTS TO: Executive Director

     

    SUPERVISION:None

     

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances, the Marketing and Communications Director will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list in not all-inclusive and that the administrator may also assign other tasks he/she deems appropriate.

     

    Marketing

    1. Partner with the Executive Director to develop strategy and operational plans for an aligned, integrated approach to marketing and communication activities to position Atlantis Charter School as a top K-12 school choice for families in the Fall River area.
    2. Draft overall marketing budget, as well as, individual event and campaign budgets, and manage budgets and related vendors to ensure responsible spending.
    3. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including but limited to; Information Technology, Family Resource and Community Center, Career Academy, K-12 District Leader, Athletics, Guidance Counselors, Summer Camp Coordinator, Human Resources, Finance, Upper School and Lower School Principals and other department leaders to develop well integrated marketing materials and communication strategies and to continuously update strategy based on the organizations changing needs and direction.
    4. Lead strategic marketing efforts to attract new students and retain existing students.
    5. In partnership with the Executive Director, develop crisis management strategies and assist in executing communications.
    6. Create an overall strategic communications calendar and gather content from departments to execute communication strategy accordingly.
    7. In conjunction with the Executive Director, develop collateral for annual giving/fundraising campaign and other donor-outreach campaigns throughout the year
    8. Develop consistent marketing and branding communications and ensure efforts are consistent throughout the school
    9. Conceptualize and draft radio scripts and potential TV and/or social media video advertisements.
    10. Create, design and execute high-level event and general collateral (i.e. billboards, commercials, student enrollment materials, fundraising, etc.)
    11. Create, design, draft content for marketing emails to be sent through email database.
    12. Draft content for any other major marketing-related communications.
    13. Ensure accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to school standards (e.g. style, logos, colors, etc.) for all school communication and marketing (both internal and external).
    14. Maintain updates to the school website ensuring content on website is current and accurate.  Obtain information from departments regularly while making updates to website content.
    15. Oversee creation of all branded items (merchandise for sports, student and employment recruitment, general school initiatives, etc.)
    16. Oversee all print publications and content, including the school’s newsletter.
    17. Manage relationships with all marketing related vendors and consultants (e.g. website developers, graphic designers, videographers, photographers, etc.) and continuously assesses quality and return on investment of each vendor.
    18. Manage relationships with media personnel and advise the Executive Director on media coverage, where appropriate.
    19. Track and oversee domain registration and renewals.

    Social Media

    1. Partner with the Executive Director to develop an overall social media strategic plan (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and execute plan.
    2. Regularly analyze social media trends and continue social media education (including taking professional development courses) to make sure content is relevant and effective
    3. Monitor social media activity and comments to ensure content is appropriate.
    4. Report any harassing behavior from families or staff to appropriate administrator.

    Special Projects/Other

    1. Remain current in emerging technologies and recommend tools to best support the schools marketing and communication efforts and efficacy.
    2. Assists with special projects, as necessary.

    EVALUATION

    An annual performance evaluation of the Marketing and Communications Director will be conducted by the Executive Director or his/her designee. 

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Follows 12-month schedule.  Salary as negotiated per offer of employment.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods.  Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.  Will need to attend related school events in the evening and weekends
