Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     of Position :

    This position serves on the campus Marketing team with a dotted line to the Foundation team which executes fundraising and external communications functions on behalf of Ivy Tech Community College, Sellersburg Campus.

    The Communications and Development Specialist will support a variety of activities within the Foundation department, primarily related to community fundraising and campus storytelling.

    This position will support campus marketing through storytelling will include video, graphic, and general content development for student recruitment and enrollment.

    Major Responsibilities :

    • Event planning and strategy development for foundation and external college events.
    • Community engagement including donor and volunteer prospecting and cultivation.
    • Provide support engaging groups, such as Circle of Ivy, alumni, etc.
    • Manage social media platforms.
    • Story-mining via student, faculty, employee, and community partner engagement.
    • Develop and design content for videos, invitations, newsletters, etc. for external audiences.
    • Support preparation of media interactions, draft remarks, and scripted events in a timely manner.
    • Database / CRM management support including gift processing and acknowledgements.
    • Develop brand social media content (writing, photography, videography, basic graphic design) focused on the prospective student and parent audience as well as continuing students.
    • Create and curate marketing content specifically optimized for social media across multiple platforms.
    • Photograph and / or video college activities and events for admission and retention marketing and communications purposes.
    • Assist in coordination of admission and retention marketing and communications efforts on behalf of both prospective and continuing student populations.
    • Write and create short-form content that sells the value of an Ivy Tech degree to prospective students, which includes writing for a target demographic of high school and adult students.
    • Assist in creating strategies for CRM user journey and nurture streams to engage external target audiences.
    • Assist with campus enrollment and retention event deliverables.
    • Organize and fulfill campus print job / requests through the online submission form.
    • Work collaboratively with the college marketing and communication team.
    • Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued, supported, and respected.
    • Other duties, including special projects, as required, or assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

    Minimum Qualifications :

    Associate degree in related field or 2 years of relevant experience

    Preferred qualifications :

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, etc.
    • 2 years of experience in development, marketing, public relations, etc.
    • Raisers Edge; Salesforce; Canva; COVIDEO; Adobe
    • Higher-education professional experience

    Other Requirements :

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
    • Basic understanding and familiarity with database management.
    • Basic understanding and familiarity with graphic design and video editing software.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building ability.
    • Must demonstrate people management skills. While this position does not oversee any staff, the position will need to work collaboratively with leadership and key stakeholders.
    • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and ability to be self-motivated, deadline-driven and extremely detail-oriented including the capability to readily adapt to changes in workflow.
    • Demonstrates ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
