Marketing Communication Director directs, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing communications strategy and programs, including advertising, branding, product promotion, and regulatory matters. Designs, develops, and distributes consistent themes, messaging and branding throughout all communication touch points. Being a Marketing Communication Director builds cross-functional relationships with organizational stakeholders to understand products, customers, and industry and develop a focused communication program. Oversees efficient processes for the regulatory review and approval of communication materials. Additionally, Marketing Communication Director explores and adopts new channels, methods, and platforms to optimize marketing communications. May oversee planning for trade shows and conferences to showcase products and amplify messaging. Develops budgets and internal and external resources for communication program delivery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Marketing Communication Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Marketing Communication Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Retail Marketing and Communication Specialist

    Job Summary:
    The Retail Marketing Specialist develops marketing assets and campaigns that support retail’s omnichannel initiatives.  The Retail Marketing Specialist is responsible for growing and stewarding Goodwill’s owned retail audiences. Working with Goodwill’s Communication and Marketing teammates, the Retail Marketing Specialist will be a key player in tying mission and sustainability storytelling into the retail narrative.  

    Examples of this work include creating Reels and TikTok videos about recurring sales from Retail’s promotional playbook, or sustainability-focused thrifting content. The Retail Marketing Specialist creates content to support regular retail email newsletters and SMS campaigns with coupons and news. This role develops and maintains Influencer relationships, along with other related partnerships and collaborations. The Retail Marketing Specialist is a Goodwill advocate who responds to reviews and complaints from customers, and helps educate shoppers and donors on the nonprofit’s mission. The Retail Marketing Specialist will make at-least weekly trips to various Goodwill stores to create fresh content, and engage audiences. The right candidate will excel at taking general promotional ideas, such as “everyday savings” or “thrifting is sustainable” and develop specific content plans around social media videos and blog-post-style content.

    The Retail Marketing Specialist is expected to:
    • Develop content to support retail initiatives. This includes videos, photos, blog-post style writing and graphic design.
    • Cultivate, grow and manage retail audiences including: email lists, SMS lists, social media followings.
    • Monitor and respond to reviews and comments on review-based platforms.
    • Measure effectiveness of retail marketing campaigns, delivering monthly reports to retail and marketing leaders.
    • Partner with External Communications Specialist to manage social media pages, including both paid and unpaid content production, scheduling, and comment management across all platforms.
    • Develop relationships with key stakeholders such as key shoppers, donors, influencers, to build a base of local supporters, advocates, partners, and brand ambassadors.
    • Manage and maintain marketing records, including consent and release forms
    • Supports live retail events, such as store openings.

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    • One to three (1-3) years of marketing or communication experience
    • Excellent video, photography, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop or Illustrator, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro, MailChimp or similar email marketing platform, Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
    • Maintain a good driving record, dependable transportation and telephone communication devices
      
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field
    • Customer service skills
