    Summary of Position:

    As a Store Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

    Operations

    • Run day-to-day front-of-house operations, ensuring compliance with handbook procedures and applicable regulations (including those pertaining to weights and measures, health and sanitation, food safety, and safe workplace practices).
    • Respond appropriately to maintenance issues, including those with refrigeration, trash, POS systems, credit card readers, scales, electrical, plumbing, safety, and other mechanical systems.
    • Ensure that the store is always staffed appropriately, and open during operating hours.
    • Implement closures/changes in hours due to events such as storms or other emergencies.
    • Audit store regularly for cleanliness, organization, spoilage, and overall customer experience.
    • Make sure store opening and closing checklists are completed daily.
    • Make sure all departments are opened and closed according to established procedures.
    • Request and ensure proper tags and signage.
    • Review spoilage, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
    • Helping conceive and implement suggestions on how to improve the team environment, work most effectively with vendors, and serve customers.

    Human Resources

    • Coordinate new job listings, review job applications, and conduct interviews for front-of-house.
    • Assist with new employee onboarding and paperwork for front-of-house.
    • Create and distribute bi-weekly front-of-house schedules on time.
    • Manage all front-of-house time-off requests.
    • Manage all front-of-house call-outs following handbook policies and procedures.
    • Conduct disciplinary actions including verbal warnings, written warnings, and termination, in accordance with company policies.
    • Mediate and resolve interpersonal issues amongst employees.
    • Appropriately document any disciplinary issues/actions involving employees.
    • Host annual trainings and team meetings as needed.

    Training

    • Train front-of-house team members in a manner that builds and sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
    • Develop training materials for front-of-house.
    • Establish and maintain a positive work environment that supports high team morale.
    • Communicate and maintain team member safety and security standards.
    • Ensure front-of-house staff training on how to operate and sanitize all equipment safely and properly.
    • Lead by example.

    Management

    • Actively manage workflow and customer flow in the front-of-house, either independently or in tandem with the management team.
    • Supervise and delegate tasks to cashiers, floaters, and other front-of-house team members.
    • Determine the break schedule and ensure all necessary breaks are given for front-of-house staff.
    • Assist cashiers or other departments when needed.

    Customer Service

    • Provide excellent customer service and address the needs of customers in a timely and effective manner.
    • Respond promptly to customer needs, questions, and requests in person, via email, or by phone.
    • Resolve difficult customer situations.

    Cash Handling

    • Make sure there is enough money and change in the building.
    • Issue, balance, and store drawers.
    • Open and close the store when needed following standardized procedures.
    • Other tasks that are deemed necessary by store ownership.

    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
    • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
    • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
    • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and other machinery.
