This internship position will analyze the trimmer line market for both consumer and professional trimmer line sales, compiling a database of available product brands, shapes, lengths, diameters, strength, other physical properties, and cost to determine the value proposition compared to the existing STIHL product offerings. Additionally, this position will also analyze the profitability for expanded STIHL product offerings into new product categories.

Internship Goals:

• Market research to determine existing product offerings and value proposition compared to STIHL offerings.
• Production expense calculations for new product offerings, including raw materials, labor time, machine time, etc.
• Return on Investment (ROI) calculations based on projected sales volumes from the market research and production expenses.

Requirements:

Academic Year: Junior or Senior

Area of Study: Business or Marketing

Preferred GPA: >3.20

Work Hours: 7:30 AM-4:00 PM

Department: Trimmer Line Plant

Compensation: $20/hour
