    As a Public Utilities Specialist (Market Initiatives), you will:

    • Make improvements or take corrective action when problems arise to maintain quality assurance processes.
    • Provide technical guidance, direction, and oversight to staff to assist in program and project management activities.
    • Brief management on potential impacts to business initiatives, obligations, or objectives as a result of existing or developing regional and national policy and regulatory issues.
    • Develop strategies for addressing new requirements or necessary changes adhering to agency guidelines.
    • Evaluate and make recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for major projects.

    Qualifications

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [GS-13] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Evaluating business outcomes for utility industry policies, including developing strategies and business practices to achieve successful implementation; (2) Conducting or contributing toward analytical studies and cost-benefit analyses to develop work requirements, priorities, and resource allocations necessary to accomplish long-range goals; (3) Providing direction, advice, and guidance to program/project staff and management on all aspects of programs and projects managed.

    "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
