Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Role:



    The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance and facilities management of the plant; supervises all service activities to maintain buildings, grounds, machinery; drives continuous improvements in production, quality, and safety while driving improvement through the framework of the Business System (EBS).  Will be leader for operational as well as strategic activities to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly by taking actions that align with strategic goals.

    In this role, you will:

    • Scheduling and oversight of all maintenance related work by managing a team of maintenance technicians and leads.
    • Ensure all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and use safe work practices.  Assignments must be completed on schedule with minimum interruption of production.
    • Provide plant oversight to all internal and external third party contractors to minimize downtime, unnecessary production costs / delays, and to ensure good housekeeping.  May assist operating departments in the disposition of problems arising from the operation, maintenance and installation of electrical, mechanical, gas or air systems.
    • Oversee and/or advise plant management regarding the buying, installation, movement, overhaul or de-capitalization  of equipment
    • Operate a TPM program in alignment with maintenance records and operational risk assessments to minimize downtime.
    • Identify the need for, budget, and prepare Capital Appropriations Requests (CAR) for needed infrastructure-related to capital projects, especially capital projects that focus on reducing our energy usage.   
    • Determine jobs to be done by outside contractors, obtain and review bids to determine successful bidder.  Oversee progress of work and check completed contracted jobs to ensure quality and conformance with specifications.
    • Plan, direct, and implement facility related capital projects by supervising and directing the actions of both internal and external maintenance contractors.
    • Audit internal maintenance and fluid management providers to ensure adequate completion of PM(s), proper labor allocation, MTTR and MTBF metrics.             
    • Audit and oversee critical spares inventory levels and part numbers to manage excess/obsolescence and minimize machine downtime.
    • Partner with site EHS Manager in the activities related to the facility’s energy or environmental programs to ensure compliance with government rules and regulation, such as energy conservation and hazardous waste handling, storage and disposal.
    • Help prepare and adhere to an annual operating (expense) budget.  Actively participate in our cost out program.



    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance or operations
    • Minimum one (1) year experience managing people 
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future


    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Plant utilities such as power, air conditioning, etc.; working knowledge of electronic controls, hydraulic equipment, plumbing equipment, etc.
    • Extensive familiarity with Industrial and Electrical Engineering including understanding of theory involved in electrical power circuits, air psychometric, hydraulics, centrifugal pump circuits and building construction
    • 3 years of manager of people experience
