Manufacturing Manager plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Manager monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Additionally, Manufacturing Manager collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop solutions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Manufacturing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Manufacturing Planning Manager

  • Manage production planning and inventory control functions maximizing plant resources to meet or exceed planned results in inventory levels and operating costs. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments and manufacturing unit(s) according to production schedule to provide exceptional service to customers.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for manufacturing planning for the Benton facility and supervise a team of 3 planners at the manufacturing plant.
    • Develop cross training and back-up plans in the planning group in Benton and across CoorsTek to enable organizational resiliency.
    • Manage the production planning functions, including development, maintenance and execution of the master production schedule and maximize plant resources to meet demand. Organize and coordinate various sections of manufacturing.
    • Ensure planning parameters are continually updated based on actual and planned performance.
    • Manage effective and service-oriented planning functions to ensure that correct procedures, system utilization, and data management processes are established and adhered to for achieving reliable performance. Work closely with operations and inside sales/customer service staff to achieve these goals.
    • Review and analyze reports and plans to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
    • May manage certain areas of the material planning and purchasing functions regarding the procurement of direct materials and subcontract services as required to execute the master schedule. Work closely with plant and corporate supply chain personnel to optimize purchases for cost reduction.
    • Direct inventory target setting and inventory control processes in planning and materials management. Review and audit inventory transactions and data entry of daily cycle counts and take action as needed to maintain inventory key performance indicators. Actively create, manage, and execute production planning schedules and manage, monitor, and measure work orders in conjunction with shop floor control.
    • Enable mid-term planning processes to determine future capacity needs and timing (SIOP). Work closely with the commercial organization to look at scenarios and understand their potential impacts on capital expansion plans and staffing levels.
    • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities through research, benchmarking, and identification of improved methods or tools to increase efficiency. Work closely with corporate planning resources to enable best practices and systems.
    • May analyze department budget to identify needs and or reductions and may allocate operating budget funds.
    • Prepare and administer on-time delivery of employee performance reviews by effectively communicating work performance standards, setting realistic goals and providing coaching and support.
    • Enforce attendance and work rules uniformly and recommend when counseling or discipline is required.

    Job Requirements:

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.
    • 7 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • APICS knowledge base or equivalent certifications desired.

    Technical & Functional Skills:

    • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, QAD, or Oracle in managing production scheduling, order promising, and inventory management.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
    • Experience with advanced planning tools such as SAP IBP preferred.
    • Ceramics, glass or other process industry experience preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
