Primary Accountabilities:
Harris Fabrication is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead our CAD Drafting and Design team!
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing our CAD Drafting and Technical Design team from concept to production. He or she will manage, lead, and develop a team of multi-disciplined designers; allocating resources based on project needs.
Major Duties:
- Manage material and drop inventory databases.
- Plan and develop drawings for production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations.
- Foster high performing teams and behavior to execute projects.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members including technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Seek ways to improve customer satisfaction, the quality of the work product, and operating efficiencies.
- Help develop, review, and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure design standardization.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology and industry practices and find practical applications.
- Interpret and incorporate design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
- Use 3D modeling software to create customers’ projects virtually.
- Ensure model critical dimensions are accurate and reflect the customer’s prints and verifies accuracy of the models.
- Print and organize paper and electronic copies of shop drawings to allow easy assembly for shop personnel.
- Utilize DXF files for laser-cut parts.
- Utilize STP files for beam processor parts.
- Review projects, determines material quantities required for projects, and assists Sales Department with estimates.
- Oversee nesting of flat steel parts on the laser, structural steel parts on the beam processor, and offline programming of press brake and machining equipment.
- Work with Purchasing to verify necessary materials are on hand.
- Coordinate projects and ideas with peers, manufacturing, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from High School or GED equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited Technical School Program or an Associates of Technology Degree in CAD Technology preferred.
- Must have two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with building CAD design, with Mechanical, Structural, Sheet Metal, and Fabrication knowledge as a preference.
- Strong math and analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Windows, Outlook)
- Working knowledge and direct experience with Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCad 3D, and/or Inventor. Tekla experience is a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Ability to exercise good judgement with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of Harris Fabrication.
- Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
- Must be organized and self-motivated
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a part of a team
- Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed to ensure project completion.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read computer screens, shop drawings, catalogs, and email, talk on the phone.
- Ability to lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds.
Work Environment:
- Professional and deadline-oriented environment in a production setting.
- Interaction with co-workers and customers.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
