Process Engineer – Metal Recycling Project (f/m/d)

Responsibilities & Qualifications

What awaits you:

In this role you will operate on a system-wide basis, offering technical support, guidance and expertise in the initial part of the casting process (metal planning activities, metal treatment, and scrap utilization, continuous casting process metallurgy), interacting with the Value Stream Specialties and working together with the Casthouse Process Engineer granting process discipline.

You will be involved in international activities as well as participating in knowledge transfer activities throughout the Novelis Europe operating groups. Considering the relevance of the “75% Recycling” strategy, your Project Leader role will be crucial for the Italian plants in reaching this objective. In addition you will be responsible for sharing best practices introduced in Italy throughout the other plants in Europe. Your tasks in detail:

• Lead and oversee projects related to metal management, with a focus on increasing recycling content
• Develop and implement strategies to achieve the 75% recycling content target
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in metal management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize recycling and sustainability initiatives
• Utilize data and analytics to monitor and report on the progress of metal management projects
• Identify and implement best practices for the sustainable use of aluminum and other materials
• Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to metal management and recycling.

How you convince us:

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• You bring at least 3 years of proven experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• You own strong project management skills with a focus on sustainability and environmental initiatives
• You gained in-depth knowledge of metal management processes and recycling technologies
• You have ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams towards achieving project goals
• You seek excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Communication and collaboration skills is your cup of tea.

Location Profile

The Pieve plant situated south of Milan Italy employs approximately 180 people. The plant has an integrated sheet mill with continuous casting capability supplying aluminium sheet and to internal and external customers of the building and construction industry as well as local automotive customers. In addition to its lively art and culture scene Milan is also a global capital of fashion and design known for its high-end restaurants and shops.
