Manufacturing Engineer assists in planning and designing manufacturing processes for a production facility. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Being a Manufacturing Engineer determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Manufacturing Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing processes within Tucson’s manufacturing operations that lead to stable, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will use the principles of LEAN 6σ and 6S to develop and execute a robust continuous improvement program and is also responsible for developing best practices within the production process. This person is self-directed and can work independently.

Required Skills & Abilities:
Education/Experience:
B.S. Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, plus 3-5 years manufacturing experience. Must have a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical fabrication, assembly techniques and machining processes. Industrial engineering, product packaging, electronic and optical fabrication and assembly techniques are helpful. ISO training is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods; ability to travel; adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions; ability to use some physical efforts in the handling of heavy materials and machinery; ability to lift ≥50 lbs.; ability to work in manufacturing environment.
