Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     In this role, you will:

    • Collaborate with leadership to align manufacturing strategies with overall company goals.
    • Develop and execute long-term manufacturing plans, considering market trends, technological advancements, and organizational objectives.
    • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, production schedules, and cost efficiency.
    • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Build and lead a high-performing manufacturing team, providing clear direction, coaching, and development opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the manufacturing department.
    • Establish and maintain robust quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement quality improvement programs and corrective actions as necessary.
    • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure a seamless flow of materials and components for production.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
    • Implement cost control measures and monitor key performance indicators related to production costs.
    • Identify and implement technology solutions to improve manufacturing processes, such as automation, data analytics, and manufacturing specific technologies.
    • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards.
    • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all applicable regulations and certifications.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks to manufacturing operations.
    • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen disruptions.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
    • Familiarity with relevant technologies and trends in manufacturing.
