Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. PRODUCTION WORKER I SAWS

  • GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    This position is responsible for gathering materials, set-up and operation of saws. Additional responsibilities include maintaining equipment and using proper safety technique. May provide direction and guidance to level I worker.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the jobs purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.
    Completes appropriate inspections.
    Does light maintenance of saws such as checking coolant, hydraulic oil and brushes.
    Positions material either manually or mechanically for production. May make adjustments to controls and guides.
    Deburrs and cleans parts.
    Keeps machine/work area clean and free of debris.
    Reads and interprets blueprints, tape measures, and calipers.
    Arrange machine at the beginning of work procedures to ensure that everything is in order.
    Test the machine before main work begins to be sure that its in good condition for production.
    Clean up machine parts after every work procedure.
    Set all machine operation information such as speed, size and shape into machine before it begins running.
    Insert all production materials in the various parts of the machine where they are supposed to be to enhance production output.
    Ensure that machines are calibrated and recalibrated before and after production procedures.
    Strictly adhere to client job specification and ensure good quality work.
    Ensure timely preparation and availability of all production materials to avoid shortage during production.
    Report to supervisor(s) regularly, keeping them updated on production activities and progress.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

    High school diploma or GED.

    Advanced education a plus.

    WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    3-5 years of job related experience required.
    Previous experience in direct manufacturing preferred.
    Must have good critical process thinking skills.
    Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
    Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
    Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
    Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
    Understanding and support of Dakotaland Manufacturing policies and procedures.
    Safety conscious behavior.

    This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
    Wear a fit-tested respirator if required.
    Will work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective cloth
    Normal memory, taking into consideration the amount and type of information.
