Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Position Executive Director, Manufacturing Quality Location USA, Louisville, KY How You'll Create Possibilities Develop and execute strategies to drive GE Appliances quality to world class levels in support of businesses’ long-term goals and objectives. Own and refine the GE Appliances quality management system to support business quality objectives. Develop best practices and standardization for quality across all GE manufacturing facilities and Mabe affiliates. Develop strong relationships across all functions and product lines to facilitate and deliver world class product quality. Utilize business level goals and objectives to identify quality improvement strategies and opportunities. Foster and grow a culture of quality for GE Appliances across all functions, product lines, and brands. Identify and leverage technology to improve quality and efficiency in manufacturing operations. Recruit and develop a world class, inclusive, and diverse quality team capable of solving the businesses’ toughest quality challenges. What You'll Bring to Our Team REQUIRED/MINIMUM: Minimum 15 years of appliance supply chain experience with experience in multiple supply chain functions such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Distribution Significant quality leadership experience – 10 years of practicing & demonstrating competency in applying operation quality concepts. Bachelor’s degree in engineering Strong business acumen with emphasis on analytical skills and problem solving Supply Chain leadership experience with direct reports Outstanding analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail especially with high level strategic problems Ability to work in a matrixed organization and influence outcomes Self-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
