Manufacturing Director oversees manufacturing operations and the production management and supervisory teams for a plant or unit. Incorporates organization-wide operational safety, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cost control policies and programs into manufacturing processes. Being a Manufacturing Director monitors production metrics, responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency. Collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions. Additionally, Manufacturing Director implements long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Manufacturing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Manufacturing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute manufacturing strategy, structure, and processes to align with overall business goals.
    • Formulate both short-range and long-range plans to make maximum use of all resources.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of all logistics of the production lines and components to proactively identify bottlenecks with efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
    • Develop and recommend process improvements to facilities, equipment, and procedures to improve safety, quality and productivity.
    • Lead and motivate a team of operations professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
    • Communicate regularly with management on critical issues, status of operations, and resource needs.
    • Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and digital solutions to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce cost.
    • Participate in recruitment process; ensuring manufacturing demands can be met.

    Additional tasks or assignments:

    • Enforce and monitor all company policies.
    • Supports the Safety & Environment Coordinator with initiatives to ensure health and safety guidelines set by the company and in compliance with federal and state regulations are followed.
    • Monitor company quality processes, ensuring safety regulations and quality standards are met in accordance with Strick’s Mission and Vision.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business Admin., or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years at the Plant Manager level in a high product mix, specialty/customized, manufacturing environment.
    • Impeccable attention to detail with ability to manage production schedules, budgets and resources while overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Forward thinker, with the ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvements.
    • Ability to communicate in a clear and well-structured way over e-mail, phone and in person with internal departments and external contacts.
    • Embrace and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Encourage innovation, seek efficiency gains, and stay current on industry advancements.
    • Ability to motivate and reward employees to keep operations running smoothly.
    • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and technology.
    • Ability to deliver results within deadlines.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $0.01 - $1.00 per year
