About our interview process / Pay

The successful applicant will be asked to meet with the Shipping/Receiving team to see the job and understand expectations.

Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing products for shipping including packing orders, creating shipment related documents and labels, and arranging pickup with appropriate carriers. Utilizes a fork lift to move shipments in the workspace.

Job specific responsibilities:

• Packages orders for shipment including creating boxes/crates, applying appropriate padding, and banding materials and boxing
• Creates shipment labels and packaging slips
• Works with carriers on item pickup to maintain on time delivery schedule
• Maintains an inventory of shipping and packaging supplies and works with Supervisor on reorders
• Troubleshoots delivery issues
• Utilizes fork lift/hand truck to load and unload materials from LTL carrier vehicles
• Maintains loading dock to company standards including cleaning/sweeping and organization of inbound and outbound shipments

Education / Technical Training expectations:

• 1 year of related experience
• Knowledge of shipping systems (ie: UPS and FedEx) and packaging standards desired
• Ability to operate a fork lift is required.

Job Specific Physical Demands:

• Continuous standing and movement required
• Bending and stooping occasionally
• Lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to continuously work in an industrial setting with temperature variations
• Required to push and pull using a hand truck
• Repetitive hand motion required during packaging activities
• Occasional reaching above and below the waist level is required

Schedule
Standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with occasional overtime.
