Being a Managing Attorney directs law office operations, case assignments, and staffing. Oversees the activities and work products of subordinate attorneys. Additionally, Managing Attorney monitors case status, timelines, and issues. Mentors and coaches attorneys and implements staff professional development programs. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Managing Attorney manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Managing Attorney typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a Personal Injury Attorney at The Jeffcoat Firm, you’ll be responsible for representing clients who have been injured due to the negligence of others.  We believe strongly in regular client communication and gaining a deeper understanding of our clients’ needs.  Our Firm’s attorneys work to ensure that our clients are not taken advantage of by those who are intent on steamrolling them for profit. You will be expected to provide legal advice and guidance, represent clients in court when needed, negotiate settlements, and ensure that clients receive reasonable to excellent compensation for their injuries.  


    What you’ll be doing:  

    • Provide legal advice to clients regarding their personal injury claims.  
    • Represent clients in court and during negotiations with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case.  
    • Negotiate settlements and ensure clients receive fair compensation for their injuries.  
    • Develop case strategies and arguments, and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.  
    • Partner with coworkers involved in the support of injury files. 
    • Investigate and gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare expert testimony.  
    • Attend depositions, mediations, and other court-related events on behalf of clients.  
    • Keep clients regularly informed about the progress of their case and provide guidance throughout the legal process.  
    • Ensure strict compliance with legal ethics and professional standards.  
    • Attend required daily morning and monthly Firm “All Hands” meetings.?  
    • Perform other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.? 

    Who you are:  

    • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.  
    • 3 years of personal injury experience, either Plaintiff or Defense. 
    • An active member in good standing with the South Carolina Bar. 
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.  
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.  
    • Salesforce experience is a plus. 
    • A very strong forward-thinking growth mindset and commitment to constant learning and improvement.
