  • Beacon is expanding its sales force and is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, knowledgeable and dedicated Account Executive.  This position will focus primarily on selling all of Beacon’s digital web services to colleges and universities in a specified region of the United States. This includes website design, web development, web hosting, and digital marketing – and all the various services within each of these areas. As a leader in providing digital web services to Higher Education over the last 25 years, Beacon’s steady growth in terms of existing client base and demand from new clients, is driving the need for an additional account executive. This job will require the distinct ability to develop new business by working closely with prospective customers in a consultative manner to understand their needs and recommend solutions. Please note that strong, demonstrable sales experience (ideally within Higher Ed) is a requirement.

     

    We are primarily seeking candidates that live in the Greensboro NC area. We will consider extremely strong candidates that live outside the area, but no relocation assistance will be available, as internal, in-person, teaming and collaboration are the foundation of our unique and regularly recognized culture. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in providing all of the aforementioned services along with the business acumen and people skills to accomplish the following: 

     

    • Quickly gain an understanding of Beacon’s capabilities and effectively communicate its value proposition.
    • Effectively communicate the capabilities and business benefits of a website, coupled with all the necessary services that surround it.
    • Assess the website and digital marketing needs of prospective clients and recommend solutions to attract, engage, inform, and convert students, faculty, and alumni.
    • Build relationships with existing and prospective clients (colleges & universities) and grow sales in their assigned region.
    • Consistently meet assigned sales quotas
    • Develop/Identify new opportunities based on demand/need.

     

    Candidates must possess the following:

    • Demonstrated experience/knowledge (ideally in sales) with website design, web development, digital marketing, web hosting (3 years).
    • Demonstrated experience working directly with decision makers, primarily business owners, leaders of organizations, marketing directors and C-levels. This includes Higher Education leadership, ideally within marketing or admissions departments.
    • Consultative approach to sales by analyzing client objectives & needs in order to propose effective solutions.
    • Exceptional communications skills: written and verbal (phone, email, face-to-face) with the ability to communicate in an effective, professional, and confident manner.
    • Solid work ethic, teaming, adaptation to fast-paced environment, and works well under pressure.
    • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
    • A strong understanding of the sales cycle and proven ability to nurture leads into long-term clients.
    • Excellent organizational & time management skills
    • Self-motivated, positive personality with excellent interpersonal skills.

     

    Important Notes:

    • Compensation includes a competitive commission plan (base salary commission), quarterly and annual bonuses for meeting tiered sales quotas, full benefits, 401k match up to 5% (immediate vesting), and inclusion in Beacon’s profit-sharing program.
