Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. A Sr. Planner – Comprehensive Planning job is available with the City of Fort Worth FWLab Department Land Use Division. The Planning Division prepares long-range and strategic plans for the city’s growth and development, while also serving as a key focal point for plan implementation. The Division prepares and updates the City’s Comprehensive Plan; conducts long-range planning for Transit-Oriented Development and other target urban areas; implements Fort Worth’s Urban Village Development Program; coordinates City implementation of the Trinity River Vision and Panther Island projects; and supports open space, watershed, public art, and other specific area planning and implementation, including urban design, form-based code development, and streetscape improvement projects.
In addition to developing long-range plans for the city’s growth and development, the Planning Division works with a variety of City departments and other stakeholders to help coordinate capital projects planning and implementation, including supporting the City’s Capital Improvement Plan. The Planning & Data Analytics Department works to ensure that long-range plans are implemented through strategic capital investments, effective City budgeting, and implementation performance monitoring.
