Maintenance Planner, Sr. devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner, Sr. develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner, Sr. utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Brief Description
The Maintenance Planner plans, directs, coordinates and controls all stores maintenance to ensure proper safety, sanitation and mechanical functions for the stores. The Maintenance Planner work schedule includes on-call responsibilities to address emergency stores issues as well as planner stores maintenance and may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities:
o Coordinate all maintenance work to properly maintain Ideal Market stores facilities.
o Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities and process work assignments.
o Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls the day-to-day operations of the department.
o Responds in a timely fashion to maintenance and repair needs. May be directed to work with vendors for maintenance and repair when outsourcing is necessary.
o Maintains positive relationships with vendors, employees, etc.
o Requisitions necessary tools, equipment, and building and maintenance supplies under the directions of the Maintenance Supervisor.
o Tracks all maintenance and stores issues and provide weekly report to Maintenance Supervisor of the issues and how those issues were resolved.
o Develops and maintains file to track and ensure updating of all warranties in effect.
o Responsible for maintenance of stores equipment and maintains directory of repair contact information for easy reference by others.
o Meets routinely with Maintenance Supervisor to provide updates on stores related issues.
o Coordinates all required building inspections. Provides inspection reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
