Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. POSITION OVERVIEW
Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and overseeing the utilization of production facilities by ensuring materials are available to complete work assignments. Plans and processes work orders and all requisitions from crew members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Must be proficient with SAP, MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel MS Project, and MS Outlook.
· Knowledge of Kronos software and AutoCAD is a plus.
· Applicant must have good communications skills (oral and written).
· Sound understanding of MSHA safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to the area of work.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to solicit input from his/her staff.
· Availability to work any shift given proper notice, including weekends and holidays (operations are 24/7 365 days a year)
· Must be able to respond to plant calls as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Five (5) years of related work experience minimum
