Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Planner 4 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Summary:
Plans utilization of facilities and office space for the Laboratory consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency, availability, and funds. Works with customers to perform workspace planning and forecast facility needs for optimum space utilization. Oversees the best land management practices, including fundamental civil engineering skills, utilizing the professional skills and knowledge to address air, water, land, and natural resource practices, regulations and policies. Typical services include, but are not limited to, space allocation and utilization, office furniture and equipment acquisition, relocation and disposition, management of adjacent outside grounds, performing technical reviews and approvals associated with environmental matter and interpreting demographics, community design, level of service impact, and resource impact.
Education:
Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
